Surprisingly, a version of the future Windows 11 leaked today, a great opportunity not only to discover the features coming to the next operating system, but also to understand its compatibility.
Apparently, Microsoft is working hard to be able to install Windows 11 on any hardware, although, for the moment, it is obviously too early to discuss the system requirements and everything else, as the new operating system has not been announced. officially.
Someone on reddit, however, tried a pretty simple experiment, installing Windows 11 on a 2007 computer with a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ processor and only 4GB of DDR2 RAM. The results are impressive, although installing Windows 11 on such an old system also requires some tweaks to manage TPM and UEFI as well as disabling some services, including Windows Defender, to boost system performance.
Windows 10 enhanced
While for many Windows 11 running on older hardware this is good news because the next operating system could then breathe new life into an older machine, it's important to keep in mind that the leaked version won't be the final one.
In theory, this is just an “advanced” Windows 10 version, which means that Windows 11 should technically work on all systems that were already running the previous version.
The question that everyone is looking for an answer that Microsoft will answer on June 24, however, concerns the price. Will Windows 11 be offered as a free upgrade to existing users or not?
