The Intel Core i5-12600K demolishes the Ryzen 5 5600X in the latest CPU-Z performance tests. Alder Lake is up to 47% faster | PurePC.pl

New Intel processors from the Alder Lake family will be announced any day. We already know what to expect from them and we hope that the changes in the architecture and the new lithography will allow to distance not only the previous Core systems, as well as the competing Ryzen 5000 series. Initial performance results of some chips look very promising – despite the fact that a lot of them refers to the engineering variants of processors. This time, however, we take a closer look at the Intel Core i5-12600K model, which looks like the final copy. This 6-core / 12-thread chip with an additional four Gracemont units was put to the test in CPU-Z, and the results suggest that the Ryzen 5 5600X simply will not be launched into the new Alder Lake.

The Intel Core i5-12600K outclasses not only the most powerful Rocket Lake, but also the Ryzen 5 5600X. According to tests in CPU-Z, the upcoming Blue chip is faster than the AMD chip by less than 20% in Single-Thread and 47% in Multi-Thread.

Intel Core i9-12900K – the top Alder Lake chip has been compared with the Intel Core i9-11900K and AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processors

The Core i5-12600K CPU performance was revealed by popular twitterers @ 9550pro and @TUM_APISAK. According to the data published by the first leakster, the processor scores 746 points in the single-threaded test and 7058 points in the multi-threaded test (the system is Windows 11). The result published by @TUM_APISAK is 79X and 72XX points, but the chip was overclocked and the test took place on Windows 10. Although we do not know the exact timings or details about the test platform, the results can be impressive. For comparison, the currently leading Intel desktop chip, i.e. the Core i9-11900K, scores 746 and 6563 points in the CPU-Z respectively (according to the data provided).

Intel Alder Lake – We got to know the detailed performance of the Intel Core i5-12600K processor and DDR5 6400 MHz RAM modules

Intel Core i5-12600K beats not only the most powerful Rocket Lake – the chip is also much faster than the Ryzen 5 5600X, which is currently the most efficient processor with six cores. In the same tests, it reaches 624 and 4811 points, respectively, which means that Alder Lake is faster by less than 20% and 47%. Admittedly, such numbers stimulate the imagination. However, we will find out how it looks in practice on November 4. The official announcement of the 12th generation Core processors is scheduled for October 27.
