Nvidia GeForce Now exceeds 10 million members

At its GTC conference, Nvidia confirmed that it has exceeded 10 million members on its Nvidia GeForce Now cloud gaming service.

If we talk more and more about cloud gaming, the GeForce Now service of Nvidia has been there for many years. After some time in beta, the service was officially launched at the start of 2020 and today is one of the most popular services on the market.

At its GTC conference, dedicated to business, cloud and AI, Nvidia confirmed that its GeForce Now service has exceeded 10 million users. It is not a surprise, the firm had already announced to have nearly 10 million users in mid-March.

    A service available everywhere

Nvidia does not explicitly mention the number of subscribers to the service with the “priority” package. The 10 million users include those who are no longer subscribers today, or who use the free service. This is still a very impressive level for Nvidia, which is not a historical platform provider like Xbox or PlayStation.

To explain this success, we can cite two strategic choices made by Nvidia. The first is that GeForce Now is compatible with a large number of devices: iPhone and iPad (via Safari), PC (Windows and MacOS), the Web with Chrome, Android smartphones and the Shield.

In addition, Nvidia offers an interesting economic model. Users of the service can access games they have purchased on Steam, GOG, and other platforms on PC. They don't need to redeem a game, like on Stadia, or to rent the games, like at Xbox.
