A Google has recently released a new update for one of its most popular apps, the Google Files. In addition to the usual performance improvements, this new version comes with a feature called “smart storage“which will certainly not be completely unknown to users “Old School” operating system Android.
This new feature that is directly associated with the Google photos, automatically detects the contents that are already backed up in the photo application, and automatically deletes them from your phone to save storage space.
This intelligent function comes to assist users in managing the storage of their device, automatically analyzing its content, and deleting it if your backup already exists. For now this feature is only available for devices from the Pixel line that are running the Beta version of Android 12, however it is likely to reach other devices very soon.
Smart Storage Comes to Google Files
To activate the Google Files feature, simply access the application's Settings and activate this new feature, but it is worth revealing that at this first moment the ‘smart storage' is exclusive for the Pixel line, and for those who have the Beta 5 version of Android 12 .
